Estimated time to complete repair: 30 minutes. This is a replacement metal axle to repair the broken plastic axle that Tesla uses on it’s scroll wheels located on the steering wheel. The entire scroll wheel assembly is not included. This repair is for your current scroll wheel assembly. The metal axle is included, as well as the other tools and items listed below under “Included”. Instructions for performing the repair are also included. When your scroll wheel breaks, and it will, Tesla will charge $300 to send a mobile repair technician to fix it. You can do this yourself for much cheaper, and it will last much longer than the repair provided by Tesla. This repair requires removal of the airbag, which is extremely easy to do. Please do not order this product if you are uncomfortable with doing this. The mobile tech from Tesla also would need to remove the airbag to replace the scroll wheel assembly and will follow the same procedure outlined in these instructions. Required tools (not included): 4mm drill bit, 5mm drill bit, drill, (optional) plastic putty knife. Included: Metal replacement axle, Hot glue, Color illustrated instructions, Torx T30 screw driver (required). Torx T20 screw driver (required for Pre-2016 Models).
